Philippe Chateau, Artist, Painter - A deep, emotional style of painting, between tradition and modernity...

Graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Dijon in 1974, Philippe Chateau, Painter devoted to figurative painting since then.
Settled in Jura (France) 2003, he now devotes himself to painting after spending years in Paris as a theatre interior designer.

"People often tell me that my paintings are sad. I'd rather think of them as melancholy, but either way, the world and life are not that funny. I am simply trying to put some soul into my painting. But as Balthus said: "I don't have anything to say about my painting. Actually, I do, but that woul take too much time, as I am so involved in it......".
